Population/Demographic Project
The countries that we will be comparing are Haiti and Qatar. Our four questions are the following,
  • What is the difference in population between Qatar and Haiti? Qatar has 8,645,189 less people than Haiti.  This is due to the fact that Haiti is a developing country with a high birth rate.
  • Which country has a higher percentage of 70-74 year old adults (both genders)? Haiti has a higher concentration of 70-74 year olds for both men women. Haiti is made up 0.6% 70-74 year old men and 0.6% 70-74 year old women. Qatar, on the other hand, is 0.2% men ranging in ages from 70-74 and women making up only 0.1% of the population in that age range.
  • Which country is predominantly male? Qatar is a predominately male country. This is because Qatar is a country whose economy is  run off their oil production which is mainly a male profession. Therefore there needs to be enough men to fulfill positions in the field of oil manufacturing, thus the higher population of males.
  • Which country currently has a higher number of children ages 0-4 years old in 2017? Haiti has a higher birth rate than Qatar. Haiti has 11.2% and Qatar has 5.9% children of their population that age.

The World Food Program USA is ranked first because by having everyone donate money so easily, it can help people struggling all around the world, not only people in certain countries or environments.  The Action Against Hunger Organization promotes and helps children and adults suffering from hunger, but the donations only go to families in Africa. It is good to support African families that struggle with poverty and starvation but there are a lot of other countries in different continents that are also in need of support. The Hunger Project Organization is based on an innovative, holistic approach, which empowers women and men living in rural villages to become the agents of their own development and make sustainable progress in overcoming hunger and poverty. This is a creative and intelligent way to approach the issues of world hunger, but it might come as a challenge to make societies try to solve their own problems instead of getting support and knowledge from others. The World Hunger Relief Organization works with sustainable farming techniques and inspires those who don’t live eating adequate food.  This organization might be helpful to people trying to find better nutrition but it can barely help with feeding the hungry.

today we took the test and it went amazing! It was open blog which wa ssoooooooooooooooooooooo clutch!  I studied rlly hard since I'm failing but I still spent like an hour putting all the notes from the powerpoint into my blog because I had a feeling it was gonna be open blog.
